At age 13 Mark joined the Setauket Fire Department as a junior. In 1993 he became a Firefighter/EMT. Mark went to Suffolk County Community College earned an Associates degree in Fire Protection Technology. In 1995 Mark joined the Brookhaven Technical Rescue Team.
